Fishing Clearwater Beach
beach fish kids?

I want to take my kids ( age 2 - 8) to the beach where there is clearwater and little fish for them to see.... not aquarium....and they are too young for snorkeling.... I will be in Orlando the first week of June. Please advise. Thanks in advance

Yes...gulf coast beaches will offer you the clearer water; the east coast is very rough. From Orlando, you'll want to take Interstate 4 west, toward Tampa; then I-75 south. Clearwater beach is VERY crowded this time of year with students out of school. Head a little further south to Anna Maria Island or just a little further than that to a little beach called Nakomis. I've lived between Orlando and Tampa my whole life and that's the beach we go to. Hardly ever a crowd, and the water is usually pretty clear...ditto with Anna Maria. the kids may not be able to snorkle, but you'll want them to have a mask; not goggles, in order to see the fish underwater.

Oh, and the trip from Orlando to Nakomis or Anna Maria will take you about and hour and 45 minutes. And bring flip flops or water shoes as the Gulf Coast beaches have lots of shells (and buckets to take the prettiest shells home :)
